A beautiful day in March 2019 sunny day a little cold weather wise as we made our way to Puddicombe House in New Hamburg, Ontario. One day following flood warnings in the area. We spent the day with Katryne and Jordan and their amazing entourage and family. They met in March 2016 on plenty of fish. An online dating site. A few days later they met in person at the Timmys in New Hamburg off Hwy 7. The first official date was in Stratford and included a walk along the Avon River.
We first met Katryne and Jordan 3 years ago. They answered a model call to help me train a second shooter for an upcoming wedding. I later found out the couple train service dogs. We did a family shoot Katryne Jordan and their pups. It was not long after the couple revealed they were engaged. This is a big part of their lives. Animals are a big part of their lives.
The venue and the couple was perfect their day was very laid back very intimate feel. Even with more than 100 guests yet still had an intimate feel. Once they picked their date we were able to get save the date photos completed very quickly in Stratford at Shakespeare Gardens. Closer to the wedding date even tho it was pouring we made the best of it and went to the barn to see another family pet and get photos. Katryne introduced us to her horse "Fancy". We shot their engagement photos in the barn.
Katryne found a beautiful gown at a local consignment shop. Her dress was gorgeous. Lots of chiffeon beading. Slightly off white (diamond White) a beautiful train with a corset back. It took a couple tries to strap the bride into her dress. But second time was a charm.
For Katryne and Jordan the planning process was very long. Katryne was very organized and was sure not to forget a single detail. Katryne's family and friends helped her through the process as a couple of them had recently been married.
Katryne and Jordan chose not to do a pre-wedding first look and rather wait and experience their first look down the aisle. As Katryne walked down the aisle with her mom and dad. "From this Moment On" played the look on Jordans face when he saw his beautiful bride for the first time was priceless. Not really anxious, nervous or worried about her overall wedding income. After she decided to let the emotions come and go naturally and that helped quite a bit to relax and enjoy the experience. After a beautiful ceremony lead by Jordans uncle the couples fears were put to rest. What the ceremony meant, if the couple really wanted to follow through, would they regret it. Although like most couples the ceremony was the most anticipated part of the day!
It was originally thought the couple would get married in a big church. You know those big old churches? As the time passed that was no longer important. Even though they were well planned Katryne and Jordan opted to use the vows the officiant had suggested to help keep the ceremony running on time.
The couple in terms of their wedding did not have anything out of the blue or unexpected happen. However, the couple announced their pregnancy shortly before the wedding. Although this made it a bit more interesting for Katryne she would not have changed it. This affected Katryne's nerves and caused a bit of morning sickness which eventually went away as the day went on.
Although nauseous from the varying factors, getting married, being pregnant the day went so fast it helped to distract form being sick and couple was able to laugh, have fun and relax. At the end of the day exhaustion struck. The year and half of planning was over. Just like that. After looking back the next day they realized how perfect their big day really was! They danced to "In Case You Didn't Know - Brett Young" it was a beautiful night spent with a warm ambience. The shoe game threw everyone for a loop. It was hilarious the responses to the questions. Timed perfectly by the wedding party. It was just the laugh everyone needed.
Looking back at their special day. The reception was awesome and everyone was happy. The couple had selected great masters of ceremony for their reception. The sparkler send off and even couples photos really painted a picture of how amazing their big day was. Started beautifully and ended beautifully. Overall the day was flawless. Simple not, Not too big. Careful and meticulous planning went into their big day. For couples that want this same experience. Flawless, no stress planning the couple suggests being organized, shop around. Even if you already have some vendors in mind. Do not settle on something if you do not want it. Ask lots of questions, even if they sound like stupid questions, keep everything documented, even conversations with vendors.
I look forward to capturing many more memories for this couple as they being their new family! Congratulations (toutes nos felicitations). Katryne and Jordan.
